The Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI) seeks a highly motivated individual to manage the High Content Screening (HCS) and Automation projects at the Facility for Advanced Imaging and Microscopy. The FMI is a world-class biomedical research institute investigating the molecular mechanisms of health and disease and has state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure for HCS. The position (100%) will be initially for three years, with the possibility thereafter to become permanent.
Profile:
- A PhD degree and ideally 3-4 years of experience in HCS and automation
- Experience in fluorescence confocal microscopy (e.g., LSMs, Spinning-Disks)
- Basic knowledge in image and data processing (e.g., ImageJ, CellProfiler, KNIME)
- Basic skills in scripting (e.g., with Metamorph and Python)
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to work as a team member
- Strong interest in training PhD students and postdoctoral scientists
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
