How do I register as a new user?
- Go to the register page.
- Fill out the form.
A username will be automatically suggested based on your real name. This will be the username you should use for logging on to the network. You may change the suggested username, i.e. in case it already exists.
Your e-mail address will only be visible to logged in users.
If you choose to attach a CV, this will only be visible to logged in users, too. However, please remember that registration is open to everyone. We therefore recommend not to include any sensitive data such as your CPR number in your CV.
You need to agree to our privacy statement. We will never share your data with a third party. - Submit the form.
- You will receive an e-mail with a link to confirm your account. On the linked page you will also set a password for your account. We suggest that you use a strong password.
How do I create a new group?
- Login to the network (rightmost link in the top menu).
- Visit the edit group page.
- Fill out the form.
Only registered users can be added as members. To do so, start typing their name in the ‘Members’ field and select them from the list. This information is always public and also appear on the members’ profile page. - Submit the form.
- You are then redirected to the page for the newly created group. If you need to make further edits, click the ‘Edit’ link on the bottom of that page.
How do I create new equipment?
- Login to the network (rightmost link in the top menu).
- Visit the edit equipment page.
- Fill out the form.
You can associate the equipment with a group that was created on the network. - Submit the form.
- You are then redirected to the page for the newly created equipment. If you need to make further edits, click the ‘Edit’ link on the bottom of that page.
How do I edit my profile?
- Login to the network (rightmost link in the top menu).
- Click on the ‘Profile’ link in the top menu. This should take you to your profile.
- Click “Edit” in the left column below your profile picture.
- Make your changes and save them by clicking on the ‘Update profile’ button on the bottom of the page.
How do I edit groups or equipment?
- Login to the network (rightmost link in the top menu).
- Find the group using the search tool (see the question below for more details).
- Click ‘Edit’ on the bottom of the group/equipment page.
- Make your changes and save them by clicking on the ‘Submit’ button on the bottom of the page.
How do I search for users, groups and equipment?
- The search tool is available to all users of the website, i.e. you do not need to be logged in. However some information on the user profiles (including e-mail addresses) are only visible to logged in users.
- You can search for users, groups and equipment by clicking the corresponding link in the top menu. This takes you the search form.
- The text field searches the names of users / groups / equipment respectively. Various filters are available by expanding the ‘Additional filter’ section.
- The boolean operation connecting the filter criteria is ‘AND’.
- Clicking on a search result takes you to the corresponding user profile or group/equipment page respectively.
I would like to submit an event.
- Login to the network (rightmost link in the top menu).
- Visit the submit event page.
- Fill out the form.
Please note that fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.
It is not required to enter a location, but if you do it will be displayed on a map. - Submit the form.
- You are redirected to the event that you created. If you need to make changes to your event, click the ‘Edit event’ link. You can only edit events that you created yourself.
What’s the deal with the forums?
- We provide a forum for discussions related to the Danish BioImaging Network. Your account on the network also serves as an account for the forum.
- Posts in the forum are visible to all logged in users, so please be considerate when posting.
- You are welcome to give any kind of feedback on the website itself in the ‘Website Meta’ forum.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
- Please send a report to webmaster [at] danishbioimaging [dot] dk. If possible and relevant, try to include a screenshot.
- You can also report bugs in the forum.
How do I delete my profile, groups or equipment?
- Please send an e-mail to webmaster [at] danishbioimaging [dot] dk. We will then delete your user profile or group for for you.
How do I advertise on the Danish BioImaging website?
- Please see the post on Advertising on the Danish BioImaging website.
Some of the locations in the map are wrong.
- This is a known bug and will hopefully be fixed soon.
